The ICWE 2016 Poster Session provides an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss their most recent advances and experiences in the field of Web Engineering. The goal of the poster session is to facilitate interaction between groups of individuals in an informal setting. Posters can be used to present both early communication of technical work and late-breaking results in research, practices, and experiences.
Audience
Posters should target the entire ICWE audience, which includes academic and industrial researchers, and practitioners. Posters will be advertised in the conference program and presented in a dedicated poster session. At least one of the authors must attend the poster session in order to present and discuss their work with attendees.
Award
An award will be given to the best poster and the best poster presented by a student.
Topics
We aim to cover all topics of the conference. For instance, topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Web application modeling and engineering
- Human computation and crowdsourcing applications
- Web applications composition and mashup
- Social Web applications
- Semantic Web applications
- Web of Things applications
Submission Instructions
Posters must include the following information:
- Title
- Author(s) and affiliation(s)
- Motivation and goals
- Background information, if needed to understand the work
- Adequate detail on the proposed approach, results, and contributions
- Related work
- Links to additional information (e.g., project website, contact information, citations to publications, other ICWE activities that will also present the work)
The article from ACM Crossroads on Research Posters provides excellent tips about how to prepare successful posters.
Each poster submission should be a 4 pages extended abstract that is formatted according to the Springer LNCS style and submitted in PDF. The extended abstract should describe the background and contribution of the work presented in the poster. An additional page (page 5) should be submitted at the end of the extended abstract that contains a draft of the actual poster (this last page will not be published, but used for review purposes).
Submission and Evaluation Process
The submission and review process will be done using EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icwe2016
Each submission will be reviewed by at least three members of the poster selection committee. The main evaluation criteria include the relevance and quality of the proposed posters in terms of originality, relevance for the ICWE audience, technical soundness, and presentation quality.
Camera-ready versions of accepted Posters submissions will be published in the ICWE 2016 main conference proceedings. For every accepted poster, at least one presenter must regularly register for ICWE 2016 as an author and attend the conference.
